Who Goes There?

When contemplating taking a cruise on the "Kawartha Voyageur", a common concern is compatibility of fellow passengers on a small ship. So who goes there?

Almost all passengers range in age from the fifties up with most in their sixties or seventies. Typically 70 percent come from Ontario, 5 percent from across Canada and 25 percent from the USA, particularly the northeast.

The ship is not licensed to carry children although occasionally an older child accompanies a grandparent.

Many passengers have travelled widely, and many are heritage buffs interested in these unique waterways so carefully preserved by the National Parks system. Also many who have participated in Elder Hostels find a kindred experience on the "Kawartha Voyageur".

Most passengers no longer want the rigors of the highway or of bus tours. Rather they enjoy walking on board to their cabin, stowing their luggage, and leaving the world behind for the duration of their cruise.

Repeat and word of mouth business is in the eighty percent range with many returning to their "adopted" home year after year.
